Welcome to Maya & Friends.
My name is Jo and Maya is my gorgeous Cocker Spaniel. Maya & Friends is a dog walking service based in and around Eastbourne. I have many years of experience with a variety of dog breeds and have a love and passion for all dogs, large or small. I am fully insured and DBS checked. I hold a Pet First Aid training certificate and Canine Communication Diploma.
I feel privileged to live on the edge of the beautiful South Downs National Park, with endless trails and woodlands within easy reach. This means less travel and more doggy walks!
Meet & Greet
Prior to any bookings I like to arrange a ‘meet & greet’ at your home. This usually takes around 30 mins and is a chance for me to meet you, gather information and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly it gives me the chance to meet your precious pooch in their own environment so we can start to build a bond.

Our Promise...for your peace of mind
At Maya & Friends we understand that your dogs are much loved members of your family and whilst in our care your dogs are treated with love and compassion, in the same way we would treat our own pets.
During dog walks we always stay within safe areas (away from livestock or busy roads). We offer plenty of time for the dogs to play, sniff around and dip in water, as well as walking and running.
We keep a fully stocked First Aid kit as well as a list of emergency contact numbers, including your registered vets for use in the event of an emergency.
We walk in all weather conditions (if it is safe to do so) and put appropriate safety measures in place, such as providing extra shade and water on hot days. Feel free to provide a coat for your doggie during cold weather. The dogs are wiped down with clean towels before they’re returned back home and offered water at the beginning and end of the walk.
Dogs are transported safely and comfortably in our van with the use of harness' or crates depending on your dogs needs. Please let us know if you feel a crate would be best for your dog.
You will be updated with regular photos/videos of your precious pooch, either directly via Whatsapp or via social media (with prior permission), giving you reassurance that your dog is having lots of fun whilst you are away.
We offer door to door collection and drop off. House keys are kept in a locked safe with no identifying tags, such as address or full name (keys are marked with your dog's name only).
What we ask of you
Please ensure that all dogs are kept up to date with vaccinations and regularly flea/worm treated. Please inform us when your dog is in season so that we can make adjustments to sessions.
Please note that we are unable to take on dogs who are at all aggressive as this may put them and others at risk.
At Maya & Friends we consider many factors when grouping dogs, such as breed type, size, energy levels and temperament. Booking regular sessions in advance whenever possible is encouraged to allow for pre planning, as we are keen for the groups to bond well.
Please be advised that we will require 24 hours cancellation notice (before a scheduled walk is due to start).
